About Katie Lindstrom

Licensed Social Studies and English as a Second Language public school teacher in Minnesota who teaches adults and adolescents within a framework of mindfulness and compassion.

Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher-in-Training with eight years of practice building and applying Mindful Self-Compassion in her life.

I am a Mindful Self-Compassion teacher-in-training and a trained teacher of Mindful Self-Compassion for Teens and the Learning to BREATHE adolescent mindfulness program, which I have facilitated as part of a university research study.

I was drawn to Mindful Self-Compassion because I always felt like I was never enough. I struggled with anxiety and perfectionism and was weighed down by the demands of life, which made it hard to see the joy and connection.

Mindful Self-Compassion has changed the way I see my life and the world. I began training as a Mindful Self-Compassion teacher in order to offer these practices to others. Despite what our thoughts tell us, I have learned that when I am more kind to myself, I accomplish more and I enjoy life more. I wish the same for you.

Before training to teach Mindful Self-Compassion in 2026, I spent five full years immersed in these practices. I completed six MSC courses ranging from eight weeks to eight months offered through the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion, Mindful Schools, and the Community for Deepening Practice. I regularly participated in the CMSC Circles of Practice (open to all), and met in many informal practice groups. In other words, these practices are a part of nearly every moment of my life. I bring an awareness of how it can be woven into our lives to my MSC teaching. MSC practices meet you where you are now and invite you to add a little more, when you are ready.
